This Saturday, May 1st, is the opening day for the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market! Stop by the First Congo parking lot from 8am to 1pm to get your week’s supply of veggies, meat, cheeses, and bread!
The Cooper-Young market will be open on Saturdays through Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring items from small farms within a 200-mile radius of Memphis, selling vegetables (some fresh-picked the morning of the market), meats, cheeses and breads. Additionally, artisans will sell handmade soaps, candles, pet care items and more, and One Sharp Dude will be on hand to sharpen knives.
Vendors expected Saturday include Downing Hollow Farm, OC Vegan Foods, Delta Sol Farm and The Original Grit Girl, among numerous others.

This should be a great time. I’m looking forward to walking to a Farmer’s Market as opposed to driving to one. Let’s hope the weather holds out.
