MLGW has announced that they are looking for volunteers to demonstrate a new program to monitor electricity usage in homes in real time. They will have a test bed of 1000 homes where smart meters will be installed. This will allow you to see your usage data and empower you to make changes to reduce your bill.
Smart Meters bring other efficiency benefits in that they allow for better energy planning by MLGW, they report outages automatically and remove the need for meter readers.
