On the first Thursday of each month, Cooper-Young hosts its Night Out celebration, when retail shops and restaurants stay open late and offer discounts on purchases, drawings to win prizes, fun refreshments, and live entertainment. It is the place to meet your friends and have a great evening that won’t break your budget! This month’s Night Out is Thursday, September 2, from 5-9pm.
Playing at the gazebo is Battle Victorious, a husband/wife duo. Todd and Emily Marriott write about struggle, hope, and everything in between. Battle Victorious radiates true authenticity in their unique blend of harmony and lyrics. Their eclectic folk rock show has grown into an expressive and entertaining performance that leaves you wanting more. Music by Battle Victorious will begin at 6pm. This month stop by Burke’s Book Store at 5:30pm for a signing with Emily Yellin and her book titled, Your Call Is (Not That) Important To Us. Toad Hall Antiques’ is featuring design artist Katheryn Abernathy during the Night Out. Katheryn was recently seen on HGTV’s Designer’s Challenge, “Modern Master Bedroom” episode. Join the Toad for an artist reception from 5-8pm. David Perry Smith Gallery, located at 703 New York, is showing new pieces of art by Mary Long-Postal, Andy Reed, John Sadowski, and Greg Gustafson.
ARTjamN is offering buy one gift certificate and get half off the second. Lux is open for business with tons of new fall fashions. Stop by and enjoy wine and refreshments, as well as tax-free purchases! The Enchanted Florist is offering all single stem flowers at a special price from 4-8pm. While you’re there be sure to check out their new candy bouquets. Midtown Martial Arts ATA is babysitting for $10 from 5-9pm. Inbalance Fitness is presenting their group fitness classes for half price during the Night Out, and House of Mews is offering half off approved kitty adoptions as well as 20% off all retail purchase. Stop by Loudeans and browse their great collection of handmade hats and enjoy some refreshments with June and Linda. Stash, the Midtown Yarn Shop, is hosting a knit-in and secret sale from 6-9pm. Painted Planet, at 798 South Cooper, will have live music, live art painting, 50% off all gallery jewelry, and free refreshments.
Central BBQ and Celtic Crossing both have live music on their patios, as well as discounts on menu items. Café Ole has DJ Egg Roll starting at 9pm!
