Remembering those who serve with snack bags on Christmas Eve

On Friday, December 24th the CYCA will again stuff snack bags for the police and fire department personnel who serve our community on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We have 70 bags provided by Eclectic Eye. Items for the bags can be store bought or homemade. If homemade, be sure to wrap them individually and include your name and address on the outside.

Our former CYCA president, Terry Lawrence, has agreed to make the delivery for us once again this year as he has done so many times in the past.
Please deliver your goodies to the CYCA offices (2298 Young Avenue) between 7 PM and 8 PM, and stick around to help stuff the bags if you can.
You can also see the exciting progress we’ve made on our office since the fire!  If you have items to give and are not able to make it at the specified time, please contact June Hurt (cyca.june@att.net or 488-0022) to make arrangements for another time Friday.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

  1. Thanks so much for putting this out. It is so very important to appreciate both law enforcement as well as firefighters. Firefighters can’t leave their stations unless on a run and working on holidays is hard on them and their families. The fire on Union just the other day is a reminder of just how very important both community service people do for us. No one died in that fire and it is clearly attributable to the hard work and dedication of our fire fighters. The police were out in droves redirecting traffic and making it safe for everyone to get where they needed to be. Thanks to all that they do for us every single date.
