FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Doorsknobs Featured in Cooper Young!
We are excited to announce that local teenage group, The Doorknobs, will be the headliners for this month’s Cooper Young Night Out on Thursday, May 5 from 6 – 9 pm at the gazebo. The Doorknobs are an alternative rock band made up of high school sophomores. The band writes and performs their own original music and has been together for the last three years. The group consists of Jesse Wilcox on lead vocals and guitar, Nick Riley on drums and vocals, Kenneth Piper on lead guitar and Bobby Landman on bass. In December 2010, they released their debut album titled “Push Me Down” which was produced by Doug Easley at Easley McCain Recording. Bring your family out and enjoy some rocking good music by these fine young men.
Cooper Young is the largest historic district in Memphis known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, retail shops, antique venues, art galleries and bars. Every first Thursday of the month, the owners stay open late to serve up discounts on everything from margaritas and wine to piercings and FLAX. Joining us this month are artists from all over the Memphis area that will be selling their wares on the sidewalk in between businesses at the corner of Cooper and Young.
Interested in art, music, antiques or books? Stop by ArtJAMn, Burke’s Book Store, David Perry Smith Gallery, Painted Planet, Underground Art, Toad Hall Antiques or Goner Records to enjoy discounts on purchases. If dining and drinks are calling you, try something new at Young Avenue Deli, Sweet Grass, Next Door, Soul Fish, Lou’s Pizza, El Diablo, Do Sushi, Cortona, Central BBQ, Celtic Crossing, Café Ole, Jasmine, Tsunami or the Beauty Shop.
