Do you want to have a direct voice in determining how our city’s money is spent?
This Thursday, the city government will kick off a series of eight public meetings to gather the public’s opinion about which city services to fund.
City Budget Public Meeting Kickoff
Thursday, February 28th
5:30 PM
Benjamin Hooks Central Library
At these meetings, YOU can help evaluate every service and policy of city government to find inefficiencies that can reduce costs. The meetings are part of city government’s Five-Year Strategic Finance and Management planning process, co-chaired by Mayor A C Wharton, Jr. and City Council Budget Chairman Jim Strickland.
Following the kickoff, a public meeting will be held in each of the seven Memphis City Council districts. Each meeting will last two hours and center on a facilitated discussion about the funding of city services. Locations, dates and times for the additional meetings will be available at the kickoff. For more information, please contact Mayor Wharton’s office at 901-567-6000.
