In early 2014, the current developer of the property, Mr. Ahmed Saffarini, visited the CYCA offices and met briefly with the Executive Director and the Building Committee Chair of the CYCA Board to discuss his exterior design. He was offered advice on ways he might better conform to surrounding residential architecture. He expressed a desire to have a meeting with residents, but that did not come to fruition. Since that time, he made minor adjustments to the plans and returned to the offices on 5/20/14 to meet with the CYCA Board. Despite these meetings, the board is concerned that Mr. Saffarini has not requested proper variances for a multi-tenant building on the property and may not construct a building designed to integrate well with the surrounding neighborhood.

Update as of 2:45 5/21/14: To clarify, Mr. Saffarini did not present his plans directly to the Board on 5/20/14 but stated that he came to listen to the Board’s feedback based on the use variance application.
