Join us this Tuesday, May 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the parking lot at First Congo for our first-ever Cooper-Young Safety Shindig!
This FREE family-friendly event will be a perfect blend of information on a wide array of safety topics with representatives from numerous different organizations. The Memphis Police Department will have officers from their Neighborhood Watch division in attendance, their COMEC unit will have lots of information geared for kids, including a children’s fingerprinting kit, lastly, the DUI division will have a drunk driving simulation cart to demonstrate how safety is on the line when you get behind the wheel after too many drinks. MLGW, the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Midtown ATA Martial Arts will be there will great information as well. Last but not least, the Memphis Fire Department will also be bringing a fire engine to the event, which is always a kids’ favorite!
In between learning about important safety topics, grab some cookout-style food, socialize with your neighbors, listen to some great live music and register to door prizes to win from many of our great neighborhood businesses.
Come on out with your family to enjoy this great event with the other Cooper-Young residents and help make Cooper-Young a safer place to live, worship, work and play.
Just in case the weather doesn’t want to cooperate with us we have a rain date of Thursday, May 22.
