CYCA Elections and Neighborhood Watch Featured at April Community Meeting

Please join us Tuesday, April 12th, for some important board of directors business and a big update from the revitalized Cooper-Young Neighborhood Watch.

First up, we will be holding elections for CYCA president and treasurer. Current treasurer Mark Morrison will be running for President as will Emma Tutor, an energetic fresh face in Cooper Young. Mark has served on the board since 2012 and has been instrumental in creating one of our most beloved events, the CY Beerfest. Emma has recently moved back to Cooper Young and is excited to work on environmentally-conscious projects in the neighborhood. Caroline Smart is currently running unopposed for the position of treasurer. Caroline joined the CYCA board at the beginning of 2016; she works with the American Cancer Society and has a wealth of experience assisting small businesses with their finances. All members in good standing with the CYCA are eligible to vote and the polls will be open for 24 hours after the meeting. If you need more info about voting, please check out this handy how-to guide.

Next, we are happy to host Aaron James of the Cooper-Young Neighborhood Watch. James will be filling us in on the latest developments with the CYNW’s recent set of grants from the city. Although there has been some delay in receiving the funds, the CYNW is planning to move forward as quickly as possible with some of their great ideas so this will be an excellent time to find out more.

The meeting gets started at 6 pm with a social half hour and a chance to chat with our election candidates. Announcements, election speeches, and our speaker will begin at 7. All are welcome to attend and we hope to see you there!
