By Kristan on April 18, 2012

Do you have old electronics that you need to get rid of? Don’t toss them in the trash! Many electronics have components that are very harmful to the environment. Instead, E-cycle them by bringing them to The Commercial Appeal on Friday, April 20th between 9 am and 5 pm for proper disposal and recycling.

Safety Alert: Theft on East Parkway

By Kristan on April 2, 2012

Between 11 pm and 5:30 am Saturday night/Sunday morning, a home on the 800 block of East Parkway was entered into and robbed.  The suspects are thought to have used a chair to climb over a locked gate and fence and then accessed the home through an unlocked back sliding glass door without waking the residents.  The back storage area was also broken into.

A police report has been filed about the incident. If you have any information on this theft, or notice any suspicious activity, please call 545-COPS (2677).

As a reminder…

Please always be vigilant about locking your doors, fence gates and windows, even during this nice springtime weather.  Items that could easily be taken off a front porch, such as lawn furniture and gardening equipment, should be secured.
