Power of Warmth Update: Second Screening for Space Heaters, Blankets Tomorrow

Due to yesterday’s inclement weather, Neighborhood Christian Center will accept applications and screen eligible households for heaters or blankets at 785 Jackson Ave. on Thursday, January 17 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. A total of 100 space heaters and 100 blankets will be available. MLGW Warns of New Scams Targeting Latino Businesses

MLGW has again received reports of scam attempts, this time targeting Hispanic business customers. The customers are receiving calls in Spanish telling them that their utility payments are past due, and that their utility services will be cut off immediately unless they go out and buy gift cards and place specific sums of money on them.
