Love Plants? Like to garden but don’t have a lot of space? Enjoy being creative? Here’s your chance to help beautify our neighborhood for the upcoming garden walk with your creative designs.
Enter the Cooper-Young Garden Club’s inaugural “Outdoor, Creative, Colorful Container Garden” Contest! This contest is open to all residents and businesses of Cooper-Young.
It’s easy to participate:
• Choose a container—any size, store bought, recycled, or creative re-use.
• Fill with stones for drainage and add potting soil.
• Choose plants with similar light and water needs
• Take a photo of it
• Fill out entry form and submit photo to:
• http://www.cooperyounggardenclub.org/cooper-young-garden-contest/
• Be sure to display your container outside so everyone can enjoy!
All photos will be posted on the Cooper-Young Garden Club Facebook page without names. The photos with the most likes in each category wins. Be sure to share on Facebook. Categories are: youth, residents, and businesses. Number of prizes given for each category is based on the number of entries received.
The “Best of Show” winner receives:
• Two free tickets to the Cooper-Young Garden Walk
• Garden-themed traveling trophy
• A yard sign
• A gift certificate to a local business
• Lamplighter article and picture
• Bragging rights!
The prizes are donated by Urban Earth Garden Center, Cooper-Young Garden Club, and CYCA.
