The Cooper-Young Garden Club is busy planning the 3rd annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk, which will be held May 19th-20th. Hundreds of people will be coming to Cooper-Young to explore more than 75 urban gardens, enjoy our arboretum, and hear some great talks by master gardeners.

This year, a shuttle bus and a guided bike tour have been added to make it easier to see more of the gardens. Aside from buying a ticket and enjoying the event, there are numerous ways for you to get involved in this annual spring event: You can make sure your yard is cleaned-up and looking nice for all of the visitors that will be wandering throughout our community. You could organize a block clean-up with your neighbors to pick up trash or help that elderly neighbor with their yard.

Finally, you can make sure that you patronize all of the great sponsors of the 2018 CY Garden Walk. Please support these businesses that support our community: Toof American Digital Printing, Signworks, Paige Arnold with Crye-Leike, Midtown Nursery, Albert Cook Plumbing, Steve Womack with State Farm, Stone Soup, Eclectic Eye, Palladio Home & Garden, Joe Spake with InCity Realty, Celtic Crossing, Ray Rico Freelance, The Beauty Shop, and Pettit’s Lawnscapes. Non-business sponsors include Bill Stemmler and Chip & Meredith Armstrong. Thanks to each and every one of you for supporting the Garden Walk and Cooper-Young. — Mark Morrison
