It is with great regret that I have to announce that Stephanie Gonzalez is leaving the Cooper-Young Community Association to pursue a great career opportunity. In the short time that she has been the executive director, she has excelled at proactively managing the organization and communicating with our various stakeholders. Fortunately, Stephanie will continue to live in Cooper-Young and be involved in various volunteer roles including the Beerfest organizing committee. I have truly enjoyed working with Stephanie and will miss collaborating with her on a day-to-day basis. We have decided to split the responsibilities of the executive director into two part-time roles. I am pleased to let you know that we have already filled those positions so that Stephanie can transfer some of her knowledge to them in the next few weeks.
Amanda Yarbro-Dill will step into the new position of office coordinator. She has lived in Cooper-Young for six years and brings diverse work experience to the position, including managing a small business and working as a social worker for the State of Tennessee among other roles.
Sheree Stubblefield will be our new coordinator of communications and community engagement. She previously lived in Cooper-Young and currently lives near Overton Square. She has experience in management, marketing, event planning, and communications in both a corporate environment and, more recently, at several nonprofits.
Although I am personally sad to see Stephanie go, I am excited about the new opportunities and perspectives that Sheree and Amanda will bring to the organization. — Mark Morrison
