Congratulations to the Cooper-Young Business Association on yet another successful Cooper-Young Festival and to Chris McHaney and his committee of volunteers for a well-run Festival Friday 4-Miler. The Cooper-Young Community Association duo of Sheree Stubblefield and Amanda Yarbro-Dill did a fantastic job supporting Chris and preparing for the busy weekend to make sure everything went smoothly. The 4-Miler is the biggest source of funds for the CYCA, and many of the things we do wouldn’t be possible without all of the volunteers who make it such a great event every year.

Saturday at the CY festival felt particularly hot to me compared to many of the past years. Hopefully, we will have more than a week of fall weather before winter arrives. Speaking of fall, the Cooper-Young Beerfest is approaching quickly now. The 9th annual Beerfest will be held Saturday, Oct 20, and again will be hosted by the great people at Midtown Autowerks. Tickets for this event sell out every year, so don’t procrastinate on buying tickets. Another reason to buy your tickets sooner rather than later is that the ticket price goes up in October. As always, current CYCA members get discounted tickets; please contact the CYCA at info@cooperyoung.org or 272-2922 for the discount code. You can buy tickets at the CYCA office or at cybeerfest.org.

Cheers! — Mark Morrison
