Every Christmas Eve, the Cooper-Young Community Association organizes snack bags for police and fire personnel who spend their holiday away from their families to protect us on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you can, please join your neighbors at the CYCA office on Christmas Eve to stuff bags for the first responders.
If you can’t join us that night, please consider making some home-baked treats that we can put in the bags. We even encourage you to put your name and address on the treats so that the recipients will know where they came from.
Since I am typically out of town visiting family for Christmas, I have never participated in this annual event, which will be held this year on December 13th at Memphis Made Brewing. However, I expect to be in town this year and am looking forward to joining in the fun. — Mark Morrison
