• The Ministries of Music of Lindenwood Christian Church presents “A Spectacular Christmas!” Sunday December 3rd, 2017, at 7:30pm. This perennial favorite features the Lindenwood chancel choir, orchestra, soloists and organist-conductor Chris Nemec performing such favorites as “O Holy Night,” “Hallelujah Chorus,” two settings of “Sleigh Ride,” and two new arrangements from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir — “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bells.” The Golightly Memorial Pipe Organ will be put through its paces as Chris plays a festive fiery fantasia on “Joy to the World,” a feat for busy hands and feet! • Area holiday theater performances include Playhouse on the Square’s traditional staging of Peter Pan. Based on J.M Barrie’s children’s classic, the show runs through-December 31s, with a New Year’s Eve 2 p.m. matinee, featuring an early evening ball drop and pictures with Peter, Wendy, Captain Hook and the rest of the cast of characters from Neverland. Pay-What-You-Can Performances are Thursday, December 28th and Friday, December 29th at 7 p.m. Playhouse on the Square is located at 66 S. Cooper St.
Another children’s favorite, Junie B. Jones, The Musical runs through December 23rd at POS’ sister theater, the Circuit Playhouse. Pay-What-You-Can Performances is Thursday, December 21st. The Circuit Playhouse is located at 51 S. Cooper St. Also at Circuit, the The Santaland Diaries, a more adult holiday tale based on the writings of David Sedaris, runs through December 23rd. The Pay-What-You-Can Performance is Thursday, December 7th.
