Dear Readers Book Club, the Cooper-Young neighborhood book club, will have their monthly gathering Wednesday, July 31 at 7 p.m.
July’s selection is The Library Book by noted New Yorker contributor Susan Orlean. The nonfiction book tells the unsolved tragic story of the 1986 fire that decimated the Los Angeles Public Library. In total, it burned for seven hours and destroyed 400,000 and damaged 700,000 more. Orlean delves into the history of libraries from the origins to their modern use today to their future and how they impact our lives for the better.
