Dear Readers Book Club, the Cooper-Young neighborhood book club, will have their monthly gathering Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. March’s book is The Unwomanly Face of War: An Oral History of Women in World War II.
This long-awaited English translation tells the oral history of women in World War II across Europe and Russia. The author, Svetlana Alexievich, won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2015 for her journalism, essays, and oral histories that are a “monument to suffering and courage in our time.” She is the first Belarusian to receive the award.
