Celebrate the holidays in the Cooper Young Historic District on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Local businesses will be lighting up their windows and outdoor displays for the annual Cooper Young “Unwrapped” contest hosted by the CYBA.

At the gazebo, we have the Peabody School Choir under the direction of Jerry Sanders singing Christmas carols starting at 5 p.m., and Santa will be strolling about listening to holiday wishes and handing out candy. Bring your camera for a picture with Santa! Santa will be at the gazebo area until 6:30 p.m.

We will be hosting a fundraiser for Peabody School on this night at the gazebo area located at the intersection of Cooper Street and Young Avenue. If you would like to make a donation, please bring a small toy under $5 for the supply closet of the Peabody Eagle Bucks Program. The Eagle Bucks Program encourages good behavior and helpfulness to others during the school day. Be sure to stay for some wonderful holiday music, cookies, and cheer!

Restaurants and retail shops will be open and offering a large assortment of holiday goodies and specials to choose from. Come support local small business owners and enjoy our friendly neighborhood in the heart of Memphis!  — Tamara Cook
