August’s Thirsty Thursday at Alchemy

The Cooper-Young Community Association’s monthly socializing event, Thirsty Thursday, took place at Mulan July 26. It was well attended with over 50 Cooper-Young neighbors attending.

The first five attendees received a free CY t-shirt. Attendees enjoyed appetizers provided by CYCA. Neighbors had the opportunity to ask board members questions about Landmark status, our next events, and where they could sign up to volunteer for the CY 4 Miler. There was also an opportunity to purchase or renew memberships, which residents took advantage of. The event lasted over the allotted two hours with guests still arriving well into the event. Mulan was a gracious host, allowing happy hour specials well into the evening, something they offered especially for Cooper-Young.

Cheryl Bledsoe, membership chairperson, remarked that this was the largest Thirsty Thursday that has taken place. Planning for the September 27 Thirsty Thursday, where there will be a raffle for anyone who purchases or renews their membership, is underway. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at a location to be determined. Check Facebook or cooperyoung.org for updates.
