The CYCA is hosting a summer story contest for kids up to 12-years-old. Tell a tale of the memorable, the beautiful, or the downright unbelievable. All stories must be true and original. All submissions must be between 300-500 words and submitted by August 1. There will be two categories: ages 5-8 and 9-12. The contest is open to kids in Cooper-Young. The first-place winners’ stories will be printed in the September edition of The Lamplighter. — Sheree Stubblefield
