Join Cooper-Young's book club, Dear Readers, in re Join Cooper-Young's book club, Dear Readers, in reading The Antidote by Karen Russell, their February selection. The Antidote is a novel set during the Dust Bowl in the fictional town of Uz, Nebraska, blending historical fiction with magical realism, featuring a "Prairie Witch" who stores memories, a Polish farmer, his niece, and a time-traveling photographer, all grappling with a town's collective amnesia and violent past, exploring themes of memory, forgetting, and national identity.⁠ ⁠ Date & Time: Monday, February 23 at 7pm⁠ Location: CYCA Office, 2298 Young Ave.⁠ ⁠ Memphis Public Library does have a couple copies of this, as well as the audio and ebook.
