Faith Lacey and Graham Blondis presented pledge check to Jim Jaggers and his team for $1,000.

Peabody Elementary School’s students, teachers, staff, and parents get excited every year around this time. October is the month in which LeBonheur Children’s Hospital sponsors the Go Jim Go! fundraising campaign. Now in its 13th year, Go Jim Go! is a “telethon on wheels,” with a team of bicyclists headed by News Channel 3 meteorologist Jim Jaggers biking more than 300 miles throughout the Mid0South region raising money for LeBonheur. To date, Go Jim Go! has raised more than $2 million.

The Peabody Jr. Beta club did a great job of motivating everyone to give. They have welcomed students and parents to school by holding signs to remind everyone about the event. They hosted a dress-down day, which was our largest donation day. That day alone we received over $400 in donations.

Jaggers and his team came by Peabody for the kick-off celebration. Students had a great time dancing, chanting, and cheering as they made a commitment to support the children of LeBonheur. Jr. Beta President Faith Lacey and Graham Blondis presented Jaggers with a pledge check valued at $1,000.

Peabody students are always looking for ways to serve our students and the community. — Deirdre Jones
