I don’t know about you, but I’m confused. Is it winter or spring? Do I need a down coat in the morning or short sleeves? Is it time to get out of bed in the dark, or am I dreaming? Hopefully, all of this confusion will end soon. I know my biological clock will adjust to the time change. What I don’t know is if we will now experience exactly 16 days of spring and go straight to summer.
Despite the strange weather, I know the Cooper-Young Garden Club is busy preparing for their 2017 Cooper-Young Garden Walk, which will be held over two days this year (May 20-21). They have recruited even more local gardeners this year that are probably already making plans and preparations for visitors from around the region. The Garden Club has also lined-up multiple speakers that will speak on topics such as out-of-the-ordinary garden themes, rain barrels, and beekeeping, among others.
Tickets can be purchased now at cygardenwalk.eventsmart.com/events/cooper-young-garden-walk. Early birds (before May 5) get a discounted ticket and an entry into a raffle for a gift basket valued at over $200. Buy a ticket and get a look at that amazing backyard that your neighbor has been carefully curating and tending. — Mark Morrison
